Samaritans Volunteer Events

date:
02/03/2010

Do you have 4 or 5 hours spare every week or two? Are you a good listener?

You might make a good Samaritan.. a Samaritans listening volunteer.

People in distress and crisis contact us day and night, 365 days a year, so we are always looking for caring, sensitive people who can offer some time on a regular basis to help man our telephone lines and respond to the hundreds of e-mails we receive every year.

Age of chivalry not dead

date:
01/24/2010

I would like to send a big thank you to the two knights of the road in lycra who stopped to assist me when my car was billowing with smoke today at Worlaby top. I was really shocked and did not know what to do but the two gentlemen reassured me and made sure everything was safe and waited with me until help and The AA man arrived to tow me safely home. It is nice to know that some people will still stop and help a damsel in distress it was much appreciated. Thank you guys.

Support local girl for Bizarre success

date:
01/09/2010

Local girl Sarah Campbell from Grimsby is in with a chance of appearing on the front cover of big time magazine Bizarre.

Alternative model Sarah, who models under the name Gypsy Rhodes, appeared in the magazine in May 2009, in an Ultra Vixen vote, where she was put to the vote with several other girls.

She won the round, and is now in the yearly final, for which the winner will have a shoot ith the magazine and appear on the front cover.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for Sarah, and a chance for locals to see a Grimsby girl on the magazine racks.
