Sponsored Walk in Aid of Systemic Lupus
I wonder if you would promote a charity event for me. I am trying to raise awareness for a disease which I have named Lupus SLE or Systemic Lupus. It affects 1 in 800 women/men in the UK but it is more prominent in women and can start from the age of 12 up to the age of 60. As a county we do not receive the same privileges as other areas they have specialised nurses or beds within the major hospitals.
successful event
A brilliant total of £242.65 was raised at the Cleethorpes Cricket Club Coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support held last Friday. A big thankyou to all those involved.
Where have all the flowers gone?
Over the past few years the number of people visiting St James’ Church has risen dramatically. Recent estimates suggest that as many as 50,000 a year visit the Church for one reason or another. It’s a building steeped in history, with many beautiful features, and reveals a heritage that is an explorer’s delight.

Gordon Royston - A Teaching Legend
I was saddened to hear of the recent death of a Grimsby teacher of the 60's & 70's who during his teaching life was an absolute legend when it came to sporting achievements.
Gordon Royston taught both History and Physical Education at the Grimsby Technical School situated in Eleanor Street but will be remembered for his ability to bring the best out of individuals whether it be football, cricket, basketball or athletics.
